چکیده

A splitting field of a central simple algebra is said to be absolute Galois if it is Galois over some fixed subfield of the centre of the algebra. The paper proves an existence theorem for such fields over global fields with enough roots of unity. As an application, all twisted function fields and all twisted Laurent series rings over symbol algebras (or p-algebras) over global fields are crossed products. A closely related statement holds for division algebras over Henselian valued fields with global residue field. The existence of absolute Galois splitting fields in central simple algebras over global fields is equivalent to a suitable generalization of the weak Grunwald-Wang Theorem, which is proved to hold if enough roots of unity are present. In general, it does not hold and counter examples have been used in noncrossed product constructions. This paper shows in particular that a certain computational difficulty involved in the construction of explicit examples of noncrossed product twisted Laurent series rings can not be avoided by starting the construction with a symbol algebra. THE BRAUER-SEVERI VARIETY ASSOCIATED WITH A CENTRAL SIMPLE ALGEBRA: A SURVEY by

— The article describes the one-to-one correspondence between central simple algebras and Brauer-Severi varieties over a field. Non-abelian group cohomology is recalled and Galois descent is worked out in detail. The classifications of central simple algebras as well as of Brauer-Severi varieties by one and the same Galois cohomology set are explained. A whole section is devoted to the discussi...

Three Theorems on Common Splitting Fields of Central Simple Algebras

Let A1, . . . , An be central simple algebras over a field F . Suppose that we possess an information on the Schur indexes of some tensor products of (some tensor powers of) the algebras. What can be said (in general) about possible degrees of finite field extensions of F splitting the algebras? In Part I, we prove a positive result of that kind. In Part II, we prove a negative result. In Part ...

Deformation of Outer Representations of Galois Group II

This paper is devoted to deformation theory of "anabelian" representations of the absolute Galois group landing in outer automorphism group of the algebraic fundamental group of a hyperbolic smooth curve defined over a number-field. In the first part of this paper, we obtained several universal deformations for Lie-algebra versions of the above representation using the Schlessinger criteria for...

ALGEBRAS WITH CYCLE-FINITE STRONGLY SIMPLY CONNECTED GALOIS COVERINGS

Let $A$ be a nite dimensional $k-$algebra and $R$ be a locally bounded category such that $R rightarrow R/G = A$ is a Galois covering dened by the action of a torsion-free group of automorphisms of $R$. Following [30], we provide criteria on the convex subcategories of a strongly simply connected category R in order to be a cycle- nite category and describe the module category of $A$. We p...

Deformation of Outer Representations of Galois Group

To a hyperbolic smooth curve defined over a number-field one naturally associates an "anabelian" representation of the absolute Galois group of the base field landing in outer automorphism group of the algebraic fundamental group. In this paper, we introduce several deformation problems for Lie-algebra versions of the above representation and show that, this way we get a richer structure than t...
